Background

LifeTuner is a non-profit personal finance community to bring together sensible, unbiased tips and information from volunteer experts with a vibrant group of peers who share their experiences and learn from each other. LifeTuner offers tips, tools, articles and real-life stories to help users on their path to strong financial health. LifeTuner believes that everyone deserves a fair shot at understanding and mastering the financial fundamentals that are key to life. Whether it’s learning how to earn more, save more or invest what you’ve got, we can help answer questions so you can make smarter decisions.

LifeTuner is brought to you by AARP, a nonprofit organization that has witnessed first hand the challenges for individuals and families who do not take the steps earlier in life to plan for their future financial security. The site was created with input from more than 400 young adults who provided feedback and perspectives to help us shape the community.

Assignment

Provide creative direction, brand development and design system for this content-rich site.  Design new pages, patterns and components to facilitate new types of content and a subscription model. Collaborate with the development team to create a world-class responsive website.

Deliverables

  • Defined and communicated the LifeTuner brand to the team and its partners. Protected the brand ensuring that all creative products remain true to the brand strategy. Developed creative programs and designed concepts that met LifeTuner business objectives and that advanced the brand strategy.
  • Created detailed, compelling visual designs that supported the LifeTuner identity. Designed all website pages and assets, HTML e-mails, online newsletters, and other online marketing and social media materials. Oversaw creative direction for the entire suite of online tools and functionality, and collaborated on rich media designs.
  • Managed all design projects from concept and kick-off through completion. Recruited and supervised freelance or third-party work-for-hire designers. Managed all traffic through the project design queue.
  • Partnered with the Product Management and Development staff and the business/strategic team in the development and refinement of the website and the online tools. Reviewed all designs in development with site developers and product manager to interface designs with dynamic back-end web technologies.
  • Designed and produced all printed collateral, such as signage, business cards, posters, banners, flyers, etc.
